Suncoast Youth Basketball has been developing basketball skills and encouraging physical fitness in the Sarasota/Manatee area since 1999.
The Suncoast Youth Basketball League is the largest basketball league in Sarasota and Manatee Counties, serving over 3000 youth boys and girls ages 5 - 17 on an annual basis.
Our program is based on the philosophy of participation, fun, teamwork, fair play, family involvement and volunteers. We shall strive to provide happy memories for a lifetime. The First Baptist Church of Sarasota Family Life Center is our host facility. Centrally located at 1661 Main Street, Sarasota, FL, the Family Life Center possesses a hardwood floor, air-conditioning and six glass backboards which provides a first class facility for a first class program.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ
Please see the updated evaluation schedule below. We needed to make some adjustments to the schedule to maintain compliance with the Boys and Girl's Club Covid-19 requirements. Please understand that we will be clearing the gym after each evaluation session. If you have a son or daughter in the Slammers/Slammettes and/or Super Slammers division we are requesting that only ONE parent/guardian enter the gym this Saturday. We are also asking that all other players in other age groups bring in a maximum of two parents/guardians/siblings. Players and Parents will not be allowed to enter the gym until the gym is cleared from the previous group. After this weekend we will have our teams set and will get our instructional 3v3 games started! We are striving to ensure that teams are balanced so that games are competitive.
Each participant will spend time on skill development and live competitions.

Slammers/Slammettes (Ages 11-12) - 11:45 - 1 PM
Super Slammers (Ages 13-14) - 1:15 - 2:30 PM
Grand Slammers (Ages 15-17) - 2:45 - 4 PM

Jan 9-Feb 27, 2021 | Ages 5-17 | $120-150 per playerDue to Covid-19 restrictions and the Boys and Girls Club limiting the gym to 25% capacity, we will be offering a 3v3 league. Our 3v3 league is designed to teach basketball fundamentals, such as proper offensive spacing, moving without the ball and screening, as well as on and off ball defense.
Studies have shown that 3v3 basketball provides players on average 147% more shots, moves, passes and possessions that an hour of 5v5 basketball. All games will be led and coached by our exceptional Coaching Staff. Games will be played in the following formats: 3v3 half court, 3v3v3 full court, and 3v3v3v3v3 Olympic style games.

- Each session will consist skill development and 3v3 competition.
- Each session will be lead by high quality coaches who will wear a mask.
- Each group will be balanced by age/skill level to ensure everyone has the best chance to develop.
- Covid Commitment - screening will take place daily to ensure the health of all parties involved.
- The gym and all equipment will be sanitized daily.
